Alex Trochut is one of the most unique and diversified graphic designers of his time. He is 40 years old and grew up in Spain and a very new approach to design through his lens using 3D, Photography, Animation, 3D lettering, lettering, illustration, editorial, advertising, music, typography, personal work. Some of his work, one can tell, are from the same artist by subtle correlating themes; however, some are so vastly different one would never know. He has done work for some of the world's biggest brands, for example, Nike, Footlocker, Puma, Coca-Cola, MAC, Oreo, and many more. Trochut displayed his work on some posters for TV shows and received a nomination at the Grammys for Best Recording Package for some of his videography. His work is very simple; however, he always adds a way to make it look sophisticated than what is shown. He does not leave out any details of his work either, and he perfects it until there is nothing left. This trait is essential in a designer like this because if he messes up a line, font, and shoelace, it may not look the correct way, which will change how the viewer observes the piece.

2. Did this assignment force you to think about design in a new way? - Yes it made be look at all the white space and utilize it so its filled up however it is not cluttering the words. One of my designs I had the big text in the upper left corner overlaid with smaller text and that did not look as good as it does now. 3. Will you utilize any of the techniques you experimented with for this assignment in your future work? - For sure defiantly the pen tool as-well as manipulating all the text in different ways to make it look different in some places when it was really all the same font. 4. Did any of your classmates or TA's work inspire you along the way? Whose? Why? - When doing my first critique it was my classmates and TA's that told me that it looked cluttered with the overlay and how I should do a stroke and add color to the big words at the top and that really changed my whole design of the project in a positive way so I am thankful for the constructive criticism. |
